Approve and release
Review a proposal on the Felspar web app, approve that exact proposal, and release it to your agents.
Approval says “this is what the company means”. Release makes it what agents follow. Both are consequential, so both are a person’s own click on the Felspar web app. No MCP tool, assistant or agent key can approve or release.
Who can
The workspace owner and approvers. They also need their own current access to the policy Doc behind the proposal; without it the page shows “This pack’s source needs your own access” and says how to fix it. That is deliberate: nobody approves a policy they can’t read.
Members can propose and backtest, but not approve or release.
Before you approve
- Know exactly which proposal. The assistant that proposed it gives you a review link and the proposal ID. If the proposal changed since it was reviewed, review it again.
- See the consequences. Read the backtest summary: which decisions change, what stays unresolved, which agents follow this job and will get the release.
Your assistant can prepare this with the approving-and-releasing-packs skill. It will show the consequences and hand you the link; it will never claim to approve for you.
Approve
- Open the review link, or find the proposal under Packs on the home page.
- Do these rules match your document? Compare each proposed rule and definition with the passage it quotes. The source text sits alongside.
- Would it give the expected answers? Check each test case’s expected and actual result.
- Under Record your review, confirm both statements:
- I reviewed the source, proposed meaning and remaining limitations.
- I reviewed the fixture expectations and actual results.
- Add a review note a later reader will understand.
- Click Approve this exact proposal.
The approval records you, the time and the exact proposal digest. It doesn’t release anything yet.
Release
On the next page, click Release this approved Pack. The release is immutable and takes effect immediately:
- agents following the job on Latest get it on their next call;
- agents pinned to an earlier release stay where they are until you move them.
Scheduling a release for later isn’t available; release at the time you want it to take effect.
If something fails
An error page doesn’t prove a write didn’t happen. Reopen the exact proposal or approval before trying again, and don’t assume a new approval or release succeeded until you see it.
After release
- The home page lists each proposal with its approval and release, and links to the release.
- To roll back, propose and release the earlier text again (it becomes a new release), or pin agents to the earlier release while a fix is prepared.
- To stop a release from serving at all, contact Felspar at hello@felspar.ai to retire it. Access ends at once, and agents on Latest fall back to the previous release.
