**Agent key.** The credential a registered company agent uses. Shown once at registration. Sent as `Authorization: Bearer <key>`.

**Answer.** One allowed answer to a question, defined by a meaning, inclusions, exclusions and examples quoted from the policy.

**Approval.** A person's recorded sign-off that an exact proposal says what the company means. Only owners and approvers can approve, on the web app.

**Approver.** A workspace member the owner allows to approve and release packs and manage agents.

**Attempt.** One request for a decision on a case. A pack limits attempts per case (3 by default).

**Backtest.** Re-deciding recent real cases under a proposal and under the current release, to see what would change. Writes nothing.

**Brief.** What a job needs, returned by `get_job_requirements` or `GET /v0/jobs/{job}/brief`.

**Case.** One caller, one job and one subject: one ticket, one contract, one company. Keyed by its ID after normalizing it by the subject's match rule.

**Classification.** Felspar's bounded reading of a text excerpt into one of a question's defined answers, accepted only above the pack's threshold.

**Decision Pack.** One company decision as tested, versioned data: questions, answers, rules, outcomes, next steps and test cases, all quoted from a policy document.

**Entity.** What a decision is about, named by a stable ID such as a ticket number, a contract ID or a domain. Sent as `entityId` (`entity_id` over MCP). See Subject.

**Escalation.** A hand-off the policy names, such as `legal-review` or `human-review`. A result carries it as `{ id, trigger, why }`; Felspar names it and stops, and your code decides what it does.

**Evidence kind / source class.** The kind of source an excerpt comes from, such as `company-site` or `crm-record`. A pack lists the kinds it accepts.

**Excerpt.** The exact words a source says, with where they came from and when (`observedAt`).

**Execution ID.** The caller's unique ID for one decision request. Resending the same ID with the same body is safe.

**Gap.** Something a decision needs that the evidence or the policy doesn't supply. Felspar reports gaps instead of guessing.

**Held outcome.** An outcome that routes a case to a review lane or a person, with the policy's next step.

**Job.** The one decision a pack makes, with a readable ID such as `triage-ticket`, `review-nda` or `classify-prospect`.

**Latest.** An agent setting that follows a job's newest release automatically.

**Member.** A workspace person who can add sources, draft, propose, backtest, run decisions and verify receipts, but not approve or release.

**Next step.** What to do after an outcome, quoted from the policy.

**Output check.** Felspar checking text an agent wrote for one of its decisions against the released pack's rules (`check_output`). A pass is not approval to send.

**"None of these".** An answer for text that clearly says something outside a question's listed answers. Different from "cannot determine", which means the text doesn't say.

**Outcome.** A possible result of a decision.

**Owner.** The first person in a workspace. Can do everything, including change roles.

**Pinned.** An agent setting that keeps a job on one chosen release.

**Plugin.** The Felspar plugin for ChatGPT, Claude and other clients: the authoring MCP tools plus six skills.

**Pre-action gate.** Code in front of a tool that acts, allowing a call only when Felspar's verified decision allows it.

**Purpose.** Why a job exists and what it resolves, quoted from the policy. With use-when and not-for, it is how an agent picks a job with `list_jobs`.

**Proposal.** A checked pack draft submitted for review. Changes nothing for agents until approved and released.

**Question.** A fact a decision needs, answered from evidence. Answer choice, yes/no, number or date.

**Receipt.** Felspar's record tying a decision to its release, evidence, time and result. Can be replayed and verified.

**Relationship.** A link from a job's subject to another record, such as a contract's counterparty, with a cardinality (`one` or `many`) and whether a decision requires it.

**Release.** An approved pack made available to agents. Immutable; replaced, never edited.

**Rule.** A condition on answers that picks an outcome. Rules are checked in order; the first match decides.

**Source.** One exact version of a policy document, stored as text with a fingerprint.

**Subject.** The kind of record one case is about (a ticket, a contract, a candidate, a company), declared in the pack with how its ID is written and matched.

**Test case.** A sample case with the outcome the policy says it should get and the rule that should decide it.

**Threshold.** The minimum probability a classified answer needs to be accepted.

**Watch state.** Whether a connected document still matches the version added: `pending`, `current`, `changed` or `stopped`.

**Workspace.** One company's isolated space in Felspar.
